Another 2 Firsts!!

Hudson lost his first tooth (finally!) and Saylor got a big girl bed (not so finally :( ) Hudson doesn't like to wiggle his loose teeth so even though they are loose he won't help work them out so the big tooth started to grow behind. I gave him a week and said if it's not out we have to go get it pulled and he (like his mother) waited until the last night and worked it until it came out!

He got to use his tooth pillow for the tooth fairy!

These three didn't get as excited as we did!

That sweet fairy left him $10 for his 1st tooth bonus and a bedazzled bill!

Saylor since being sick has slept with us and did not think she needed to go back to her crib :/ So we started talking about how good she sleeps in a real bed and sometimes she will sleep till 9:30, the boys have no idea what sleeping in is so we wanted to applaud this. We talked about a bunch of different scenarios....move our queen guest bed in her room, buy her a twin bed, buy her a full bed, or move her to the guest bedroom. The Rusty Chandelier was opening the same week so on a whim I dragged the big boys and left Saylor with Khaki and we went to look and found this gem tucked away. An antique, full size wrought iron bed it was right on the money so we purchased!

It fits perfectly in her room and she is so proud of it. I know the picture above is not centered but that is where a nail hole was...will complete the rest of the room soon!

First night in her bed and she slept all night until 8:30am! The only struggle we have had is she wakes up and calls for me to come lay with her...how do I get out of this habit!?

We did this same thing with two little boys 4 years ago! The differences are Saylor was not crawling out of her bed and she was 25 months old and the boys were doing acrobats out of their cribs and were only 22 months old.

Dads Day and another pneumovirus

Saylor started coming down with the same symptoms Hudson did the day we got home from the beach and after a week of it she was also diagnosed with pneumonia and medipneumovirus. It was so sad to see her dragging and coughing but amazingly she got better faster than Hudson did and her O2 never got below 90. This was on Father's Day weekend so we weren't all together to celebrate.
Harrison had to try on my wig for Lauren's bacherlorette party, when I saw this picture I almost threw the thing in the trash....horrible.

One of the boys snuck this photo of Pappy but we did get to see him and Nana Pierce and visit while Saylor was sick.

She felt so bad she just wanted to lay in my lap all the time. :(

The boys and Pop on Father's Day morning, they stayed with Nanny while we mended Saylor.

Giving Daddy all his handmade gifts and card.

Daddy's big gift, a shop vac! I had no idea what we were missing out on! I love this thing maybe more than Joel does!

We also had a Garden Veggie Fry, it was delish!

Oh Mercy!

We have wanted a Springer Spaniel for a few years now, my brother's family has one you might have seen on here, "Lolli", she is the greatest dog and was the inspiration for us wanting one. Well we found a breeder in Wilmer, AL which just happens to be on the way home from the beach! There is never a "good" time to get a new puppy, who is ever ready to add another life and responsibility to the pack as it is?! Since I am staying home this year it was just a "better" time to get one. So we made contact with the breeder and met her in Mobile and picked up our new girl, Oh Mercy Vanellope of Beaver Lake, "Mercy". She actually came with the name Mercy so we kept it, her litter was all "M" names. As my mom says, it's so fitting "Mercy Me!" is all she could say! She is the sweetest baby and I've never had a puppy that will just lay around and stays right next to me inside or outside.
She fits right in and has some LARGE shoes to fill with Lolli!

The kids love her, my only complaint is that I have to bathe her ALL the time, I forgot how Springer's love water and she tries to fits all four legs in Charlie's water bowl and swim! I need to get her a little pool. I didn't have a picture of her and Charlie but they are great friends and hang together outside.

She can sit and shake!

This is the moment we got her, she and Lolli hit it off.

Saylor says, "my puppy!", "Good gull", and tries to say Mercy and calls her "Monkey" instead :)

The Brown's Beach It 13'

We had our annual Brown family vacation to Orange Beach this year and we stayed at the Caribe with Dean and Jason and their families. My parents and Uncle LJ and Aunt Pat stayed at the Phoenix VII, this way we got the best of both worlds! We are starting to really love staying on the bay side but loved getting the chance to walk the beach and see the water.  We stayed for a week and this is what we did! (warning: picture overload)
The boys got to fish.

Saylor loved the shallow pools and water fountains, she was old enough to explore the water by herself and we are so glad she loves it and is not scared!

Her and Nanny got to hang out a lot :)

She was in charge of pushing all the elevator buttons.

My big brothers and I got to hang out with our families and watch our kids play, the most fun!

I got to wake up early with my early birds and watch the beach wake up, I loved it, really.

The cascading pools

The lazy river and the beach

The beach across the road, we could watch all the boats coming out of the pass in the mornings.
