First Sleepover

We gave the boys a choice this year....a party for everyone (family, friends, classmates) or a sleepover. They excitedly chose a sleepover. They have never had friends to stay the night before. So being a first-timer myself and knowing the Joel would not be at most of this  because of football I thought it was fair for each boy to choose 2 friends. So 6 boys, I've always figured once you get past 3 kids it doesn't really matter. So here is how it went...
This is before the party in my nice clean house :)

Here is Brooks, Christopher, Sam and Harrison eating dinner.

It got a little crazy when we unwrapped gifts and gave out goody-bags.

Here they are before the silly string war. They are all good kids, but good kids does not ensure you against yelling, screaming, jumping and all the excitement that is apparently bottled up in these poor youngens until they all get together at the Pierce's!

They did silly string, popped fireworks, took their shirts off (they thought they were cool), watched 20 minutes of Teen Beach Movie, ate pizza and chips and fruit and cupcakes, played the drums (loudly), played spy/army rangers and so much more!
The birthday boys were great hosts that night!

Even the dogs were worn out! Haha, really that was a great night's sleep for Joel and I and I think it is because we sent Saylor to Nanny's. The boys all went to sleep about 10:45 or 11:00 that night and of course my two were the first awake at 6:15am. The other normal children started waking up from 8:00 to 9:00 and by 10:00 everyone was gone! Sleepover was a success and I would do it again but not until they turn 10!

Capture this

I wanted to have the boys pictures made together since they both are toothless on top right now. They have each lost 4 teeth and it is kind of early, but they both got their first tooth at 4 months and the dentist has always said "early in, early to lose". So my oldest friend happens to be a stellar photographer and really tries to preserve the mood in these black and whites, she calls them her "Moody Black and Whites". I asked her to do these and they turned out beautiful!

Here is Heather snapping the boys which looks a little silly until you see the product below...

Now this is our boys in every facet!

Here is one of Saylor, excuse the watermark I totally ripped this from my gallery because I wanted to show how great they turned out!

I don't know if I have made this clear yet, but this right here is so true to our lives right now. Joel's heart is right here beating outside of his body as he paints its toes! He LOVES this baby girl. He is actually left handed but it was so awkward to paint toes for the first time I guess right felt just the same.

We went for a late night yogurt run and this is as good as it gets on family snapshots...Saylor actually refused to look at the camera but Joel acted like he already took the picture and then she looked at him like this...

We went to our friend Mary Collis Patrick's birthday party and it was so lovely, all pink and she had all of my favorite candies as part of her spread...Cotton Candy Jelly Bellies and Strawberry and Cherry Starbursts! Here is Saylor and her Khaki after she got her lips glossed.

My morning walking buddies.

The boys started Rhythm/Drum lessons from Mr.John Milham and they love to jam out! He explained to me that no matter what music path they take (if any) they will need to know rhythm, beats and notes in each one so we are doing this to prepare us for the "Pierce Bros Band Summer Tour 2027".

Yard Workers for Hire

We had a work day in the yard on a Saturday and the boys really helped Joel this time, we are almost there to having 2 yard workers!!! Joel wouldn't agree that they fulfilled their duties but I thought they made a big impact. They got the wheel barrow and filled it with all the trimmings of the shrubs and then went and dumped it down the hill, they did that about 6 times.

This is what homework time looks like at our house right now. It's a total juggling act. Saylor needs full-attention, Hudson is trying to rush through and Harrison wants me to sit by him.

Happy Birthday to our sweet Joel this month!! This is when we went to get the kids from his mom and Ronnie's house....the boys had hid and jumped out with silly string. Please notice the bare booty :)

They finally got him! He is not a big celebrator and could really care less if we recognize his special day but we always want him to know how special he is to us and how much we love him.

Toothfairy Fund

These two lost their two front teeth at the same time and it has been so cute watching them talk and smile. I thought about this moment when they were infants and wondered if they would be toothless at the same time :) They have each lost 4 teeth and Joel said we are going to have to start a new fund in our "envelope system" = toothfairy.

Belle came to hang out with us the other night and these two always pick up where they left off, bff's and according to them future husband and wife and residents of New York :/

Harrison rolled Granny back to her room at the hospital one day, he did a great job just thankful her foot wasn't on the foot rest when he rammed it into the door frame.

One of her favorite places, outside on the front steps.

The Lollipop Guild at Hanna's 1st birthday.

Dance class for my ballerina girl.

August milestones

Mercy girl rides to school with us every morning, she gets some good giggles going on the way. She gives everyone a little sunshine before they get out for school :)

Saylor is officially potty trained and let me say that was so much easier than I thought and SOOO much easier than twin boys!
She had her first dance class and loves it! Its a fun outing for her and I, she loves to be a wiggly worm, smelling the flowers and a marching ant.

We went on an overnighter to NOLA for our dual anniversary with our dear friends the Crager's. It was relaxing and the best night of sleep I've had in awhile!

These are some great friends that have been through every season of our married lives together, no kids, PT husbands, teaching wives, first kids, sleepless nights, sicknesses, loss/death and great celebrations too!

Granny Shaw fell on the tour bus in South Dakota on her way to see Mount Rushmore and broke her hip :( she had emergency surgery there and 4 days later the Air Ambulance flew her back to Forrest General and now she is at my parents house getting home health PT and nursing. She has done remarkably well and is on the mend! So proud she is doing so well!

Kindergarten here they come!!!

They went to their first day of Kindergarten on August 6, 2013!
Harrison wants to be a doctor or a principal and live at home and Hudson wants to be a Game Warden or Turtle Man.

Harrison is in a size 12 shoe and wearing mostly size 6 shirts and 5 shorts. They started a new morning routine and they get up with an alarm and get dressed and brush teeth before coming out of their room, it's working great for all of us!

Hudson is in a size 1 shoe (skipped size 13 all together) and 6 in shirts and 5 in shorts. They still dress alike (and want to) its so easy to pick one thing out! Harrison gets a little concerned when I've picked out different outfits :/ So for now we are still matching, that seems to be a popular question this year. I get it that I can't do this forever but it works for us and I think they find each other this way. I KNOW they like the attention of the "are you twins?" and "look they're twins!" ;)

Saylor was excited too!

They went right to their seats and didn't even look back at me!

Say wanted to stay too! Yes, she is in PJ's and does not have a bow. I'm not super woman ... baby steps ;)
