The Forever Fevers!

The boys have had a Fever Virus this week (since last Wednesday) and I keep thinking surely this is the last day! We have to try to catch the fever with Motrin before it returns but it usually beats us to it. Last night our main A/C unit quit blowing cold air, the boys didn't sleep well so I put them in the guest bed with me and Joel slept in our hot room with a fan on him. So we are hot and tired but hopefully this thing is about to be through running its course! I have to say, both of the boys were so pitiful and tired last night they both crawled in my lap in their glider and let me rock them for awhile and it filled up my love tank. I know that will probably not happen again for a long time if ever! So maybe this thing is just going to end with a bang and a couple grand on the A/C bill!! Poor Joel :(

Urine for a treat!

Urine for a treat is what I've found out about potty training two boys!! I am being forced by their readiness and "signs" to start getting serious about this. So today we pulled the potty out for easy access and we were off. They were in training pants so I was taking them about every 15 minutes. Harrison was successful and I was proud, Hudson's turn! Hudson went too! As I am cleaning out the pot I realize that after Harrison's successful tee tee he went to the broom closet and had a successful poo poo....then he went and sat on the floor and sat at the table...there was a trail!! As I am cleaning that up, Hudson tee tee's on the floor as well. So it goes, we have started our formal training but we have a long ways to go and a lot of floors to clean....sigh. This is random but our shrubs are dying and we don't know what is killing them, we thought drought but some are still thriving so we don't think that is the case. Any ideas?? They are so expensive to replace.

The Sweetest Thing

There have been a few (okay more than a few) times in the past two years that I thought I was going to lose my mind with two babies...but I have to say, there is nothing like seeing these two boys laugh and play with each other! They pick with one another, chase, act like bees "beeeeeee!", jump around, dance, kick balls, throw balls, throw things at mommy's head etc. It is the like music to my soul to hear them cackle out loud at each other. I am so glad that we do have two and that they will have each other forever.

Today while swimming I cut some watermelon that their Pawpaw grew for them and let them eat it outside in their birthday suit. It was such a pretty day, not too hot and they were so happy and sweet all day. I love these guys so much and am truly thankful that they came in twos!

This was Joel's first weekend, well first time over 2 hours that he has kept the boys by himself. I went to Destin, FL after putting the boys to bed Thursday night with some of my dearest high school friends. Katherine invited us to stay at her condo this weekend for a girls trip. I had MANY reservations about not just leaving them but....my parents were also out of town and Joel's mom was recovering from surgery so he was really not going to get bailed out! I went, I had fun, I relaxed and enjoyed fun girl talk and laughs. It was really good for all of us! Joel did a wonderful job and learned a lot about what I do everyday and most importantly he learned a lot about the boys, he said he was glad he got to spend that time with them. It was so fun to be with the girls and look at clothes and laugh and catch up. A happy rested mommy is a good mommy...right!?

The night before I left we let them take a bubble bath in the big tub and we turned on the jets to make bubble whipped cream...we almost lost them in all the bubbles!!

Cousins!

It is so fun that both my brothers and Joel's brother all have kids around the same ages. I did not have any close cousins growing up but always wished I did or would pretend my friends were my cousins. This past weekend Hudson and Harrison got to play with ALL of their cousins and it is so fun to watch them interact and get to know one another! Harrison can say "Kali" really well and is now saying "Sucy" for Lucy. They also made their Water Park debut, at the water park in Collins, MS. It went surprisingly well, minus one meltdown from Harrison (that was expected). My brother Dean and his wife Ashley have Lucy and Grayson and they are 8, and my other brother Jason and his wife Shelley have Liam and he is 3. Matthew and Julia, Joel's brother have Kali who is 3 and Kayla who is about to be 8 months!

Keyboard Hiatus

Hello! I am back I have been on a keyboard hiatus recently... a little boy spilled/poured/spit juice on our keyboard, there were no eyewitnesses just the evidence dripped out as I picked up the keyboard to look under it. So I have a lot of catching up to do! We had a great weekend for the 4th of July! We went to the Laurel fireworks show (which was very impressive I must admit!) with our great friends the Cragers and Mawmaw, Pawpaw and Kali. The boys had so much fun and got to stay up late. On Saturday we stopped by and saw Pappy and Nana Pierce and had lunch, than on to Liam's house to sing Happy Birthday! He got a new playground and the boys loved it. Here are some pics from that weekend.

21 Months today!!

Our baby boys are 21 months old today! They are starting to understand so much and are a little bit better at communicating what they want. Here is a little sample of the latest vocabulary:

Hudson: Dar-Dar = Harrison Char-Char= Charlie Durdock= Murdoch (his train) Jews = shoes

His speech is a little harder to figure out sometimes but he is very adamant about what he is saying! In the mornings Hudson always wakes up before Harrison and I can hear him in the monitor yelling "DarDar!" over and over to wake him up. Harrison has started to put words together into phrases which is exciting to us.

Harrison: Pawpaw tuck beepbeep, Mama shoes(he brings me my shoes to put on whether they are flip flops or stilettos and I HAVE to wear them), I'll geet it!, Kiki gone! (he said this when Kimberly left our house yesterday about 100 times) Dadas mower bunnbunn (he loves to ride daddy's mower) and Here ya go. Oh, and he has started calling Hudson "Huddy", so cute.

Here is Huddy's hug, he is very sweet to Harrison when he wants to be he will bring him his things and give him a hug and often a kiss.

We will be getting ready for a fun 4th with fireworks in Laurel on Friday with our good friends the Crager's and probably Mawmaw and Pawpaw and maybe Kali. Than to celebrate Liam's 3rd birthday on Saturday at his house. Our Yankee Doodle Dandee will be 3, hard to believe!! He calls Hudson "hudson" and Harrison "huddy" its funny. Happy 4th of July!!
