Healthy Girl!

Miss Saylor went to the doctor yesterday for her first shots and a check-up. She has just about doubled her weight in 7 weeks! She weighs 13 pounds, is 21.5 inches long and her head is 15.5. She had a great check-up, Dr.Tibbs said to put Oatmeal and Karo in her bottles and gave her more Zantac. She has been smiling so much and has more awake time now. The boys are still enamoured by her, they pet her all the time and tell me what I should be doing for her ;)
Yawning :)

Harrison can't HELP himself, they both sneak and wake her up or try to give her a pacifier when its not necessary....ugh.

We take a lot of pictures here because it is her rug in her room and it is soooo soft!

Here is Harrison swimming underwater from one side to the other.

Hudson is practicing his baby kicks for swimming on top of the water.

This is their favorite, swimming on their horsies (noodles) to the deep end and touching the diving board.

This is the reason I keep sitting down in front of my computer even when it is not convenient to blog. Our 2010 book came in this week and the boys keep looking at it and remembering our fun times. A lot of the stories in there I would have NEVER remembered, I am so grateful for good memories and computers!

First Creek Trip

The weekend before last we took the boys for their first canoe trip down the Okatoma. We all had the most fun we have had in a long time. I was really nervous about taking them, afraid they were too young, needed naps, not good enough swimmers...etc. They surprised us all!

Riding the red bus to the creek, they have always wanted to ride a school bus!

Starting out...they were so excited and LOVED wearing their spiderman life jackets and water shoes that they got to pick out.

They wanted to stop at every sandbar to swim!

Harrison enjoying the water!

Fearless!

Harrison had to squeeze in a nap, he doesn't miss one EVER. He woke up and said, "I just needed to rest, I'm better now!"

Mawmaw and Pawpaw had all three kids in their boat most of the day.

This is where Saylor was! At Nanny and Pop's house!

Reading a book before we head home.

Mondaze

On a Monday....
After swim lessons watching Wall-E, Hudson couldn't make it. They are best buds and they use it as leverage..."I won't be your best friend ANYMORE!"

This is how the princess is sleeping at night these days...swaddled, in her moses basket, in her bassinet...whatever it takes!

She has been crying after every bottle and the Doc put her on Nutramigen which is VERY expensive and stinky. There was no change, so today she got switched back to gentlease with barley and Zantac....we shall see, I want my good baby back!!
This is one of my first smocked dresses when I was a baby :)

1 month

Our Saylor girl was 1 month old on Friday June 3rd! This is so cliche' but, they grow up so fast, I can't believe a month is gone! She has been a very good baby, eating every 3 hours and usually 5 ounces! That is a lot! She is sleeping in her bassinet at night and her crib during the day. We swaddle her at night. She is on GentleEase formula and we are using Drop-Ins bottles. The boys are really good with her and help me out when they are all in the backseat. Sometimes they can't help themselves to love on her or kiss her while she is sleeping and they wake her up. She is just now starting to take her pacifier. We are enjoying her so much!

This is what we have been up to this past week.......

Harrison put this puzzle together with minimal help!!

We helped host a wedding shower for one of my oldest best friends, Vanessa and her fiance Tyler. It was a fiesta! It was so much fun to see everyone and laugh so hard it made my face hurt.

Hudson hit his head on the door of the Tahoe and it needed medical attention, I called Joel and he said all they would do is super glue it since it was on his face and instructed me on what to do. Now Joel does this kind of stuff all the time at work....me, not so much. I had my gloves on, my mom had gloves on and we pushed it together and I poured on the glue.... no tears, no problem. Until Nanny's glove was stuck to his head, so I held it while she pulled her hand out and we cut the hanging glove as close as we could! My friend Chrissy thought that was a piece of gum on his head...hahahaha

The boys had pajama day at school, they are still taking swim lessons everyday so I take them to school by 8 am and pick them up around 10:15.

Proud

I was feeding Saylor at 5:00 am when Joel got up to get ready for work, on his way out he kissed us both and stood there in the dawn light and said, "Isn't it crazy that we have a baby?" We have just been going with the flow which happens to be a little fast (yawn). So here is a snapshot of what we have been doing this past week and over Memorial Day weekend.

Saylor baby

"we want to hold her on our shoulder like you do"

We went to the coast and got some shrimp to boil, Joel did a great job on them!

The helpers

Mawmaw and Saylor waiting on the shrimp.

They're ready!

Cleaning up afterwards......or riding trikes naked while Pawpaw cleaned up.

We started swim lessons this week, this is Hudson he is a little fish and swam by himself in the big pool today! (this is in our blow-up pool)

First day at lessons, Katie, Brantlee, Collin, Hudson and Harrison with Ms.Diane and Justin

Three sweet boys growing up way too fast!

The boys and I have a song we listen to together and sing along called "You and Me" by Frances England. Having a new baby makes us realize sometimes how far we have come since our boys were this small.
How did you grow up so big overnight, how did you get so smart and bright, yesterday you were asleep in my arms, today you're growing off the charts, I'm so proud of you!
Today on our way to run errands, as we listened to this from the backseat Hudson asked, "Mommy, what's proud?" and I explained how proud means I am so thankful to have such a beautiful, healthy and smart boy that I want everyone to know you are mine. He smiled with pride and said "yeah" as he looked out the window.
