Cokesplosion

Granny Shaw came to visit last week and we had a great time with her! Nanny brought another science experiment for the boys to do. A 2-liter coke and a roll of Mentos Mints and the whole roll has to be dumped in at one time so a piece of rolled up paper helps drop them in. They thought it was so cool! The boys had a GREAT week at school and were both line leaders on the same day.

Noise Displaysia

This is the condition you have when you finally get all your chickens to sleep at the same time. My definition of quiet and your definition of quiet is probably different... I was talking to my friend Heather today about the silence we obsess about during nap times. First, it is quite an accomplishment when you get three kids down and asleep at the same time and NOTHING is going to mess it up! The only thing I hear right now is two monitors with sound machines on "rain" and a little black fly that is flying in the window. I don't wear shoes so that my steps don't arouse anyone, I usually don't have the tv on but if it is, it's muted, I turn the ringer on my phone down, I don't dare get ice, flush a toilet or get a snack either! Crazy maybe but this is the only hour in the day that it's just me and I can get some things done! I think I am noise sensitive now due to this condition. Things that will make my blood pressure spike during this time... UPS man ringing the doorbell twice in a row, neighbor deciding to rev up the engine to each outdoor toy and ride it around the house, or house phone ringing. Don't be afraid to call or text me I have my phone close and I love to step outside to chat :) I know they probably can't hear much and are in a deep sleep but I just call it insurance.... I even creep out of a chair if I sit down so not to make it squeak... Just thought I needed to document for those days in the near future when this idea of all 3 napping is humorous.

Ivory

We did a fun experiment last week with Ivory soap (must be Ivory). We halfed one bar (must be halfed). The boys took turns and we put it on some paper towel and in the microwave for a minute. It grew and grew! It was fun to touch and feel. The only downside is that the smell of the soap gets pretty strong while it's warm and it was a little too strong for me. Fun quick experiment on a boring day but make sure you get some hypotheses before you start!

Love Bugs

The love bug has definitely bitten our family! We are crazy about our sweet and handsome 4 year olds and our precious little baby girl. It was wild to watch them fix their own valentines by signing their name and putting the sucker on it! Harrison would get mad because his name is so long sometimes it wouldnt all fit, sorry buddy! Saylor is sick with bronchitis and Hudson woke up with fever so they will be home today mending.... And yesterday Harrison burned his arm on the fireplace and then fell on gravel when he got to school so both hands were wrapped up! Anyway we are all excited about Valentines day, kids make it south fun! Here's to health and sleep an I hope they come soon!

One-on-one with the King

As Im getting Saylor out of the bath and ready for bed...
Harrison "mom who is our king?"
Me "Jesus"
H "he is in the sky though"
Me " he is also in your heart and with you all the time"
H "he hears what I say in this house?"
Me "he is always with you buddy"

He was quiet for a minute and then he started talking real low and quiet..

H "hey Jesus, what are you doing? Yeah? I'm just talking to Mommy. Guess?! Ok, only one guess? Are you going to make another person? I did? Yay!! I got it right, ok thank you Jesus and I love you"
H "ok mom I was just talking to Jesus and he let me have one guess and I got it right, he's about to make somebody, that's awesome"

He was very serious and oh so innocent.... God knew he needed some one-on-one after he saw Harrison tee tee outside at St.John's open house tonight :/

9 is fine!

Saylor girl turned 9 months old! She is such a joy! She has started to crawl about 2-4 steps (crawls?) at a time but stays right in the same area, her Aunt Julia assured me by the end of the week she will be all over the place! Here are her stats:
28 inches (75th)
24.4 lbs (off charts)
Size 4 diaper and mostly 12 month clothes!
She is still a very finicky eater, takes 5-6 6oz bottles a day, prefers snacks over baby food and loves diluted apple juice.
She sleeps very good at night and can say mama, dada, nana, hey, and uh oh!
We love you Susie-Q!
