Ding Dong!

So I did it...I bought something I said I would NEVER do! A box of Little Debbie Ding Dong's (isn't that what these are?). I have always thought there is nothing good for anyone in those things but my motherly guilt of going back to work is trying to over compensate right now, I said "of course you can have those! (big smile)" today in the Dollar General. So there, it's done, they loved them, the end. Have a great weekend!!

"The Man"

Whenever we are out and about, in a store, at McDonald's or in the car; we use "the man" as our rule maker. For example, at McDonald's playground Harrison wanted to take his chicken nugget to play. My mom said, "the man said No Eating in the playground" and he sat down and ate that nugget. At Target, they start as we enter the store "I wanna walk!" and we said, "The Man said all little boys need to be in a buggy so they don't get lost" and they agreed to get in. At the pool when they start running....you guessed it, that man said No Running! So I just wonder who they think that man is but thank you Mr.Man, you have made my job a little bit easier. Here are some pics from this week :)

Dog Days of Summer

We are in the dog days of summer now... It is too hot to stay outside for long and we are (I AM!!) getting stir-crazy inside. Nanny had a great idea this weekend and set the boys up in their boxes (rooms, garages, sheds, caves are some other names we have called them).

They twisted her arm to get in....actually I think they just said "Nanny get in!"

Today it was a slide!

It has been a motorcycle garage too!

Charlie is a big boy now, I tried to get him to sit next to Harrison but between the both of them and the heat I was sweating and my blood pressure was peaking...this is all I got.

We went to Collin's dinosaur birthday party this weekend. It was epic because Harrison is still talking about it! He slid down the big slide over and over, they hit the pinata and sang "Happy Birthday!". We keep hearing about the highlights of the party particularly when it is time to go down for a nap or for the night!

Pergola Before/After

Joel and his Dad finished the Pergola on our back deck today. It is amazing, it provides shade and something nice to look at. I am so proud of it. Not only because it is so sturdy, well-made and attractive but because of the hands that built it. Thank you Pappy, for enduring the heat, the dogs and the little helpers to build such a spectacular structure!! His talent is a dying art I believe. We love you!

Unshaded deck area, gets the afternoon sun it heats up our walls and comes in the windows.

These pics are before any wood was purchased, the morning sun is starting to creep in.

View from the yard

After the first weekend it was starting to take shape!

And.....

Here it is!

The white panels allow the breeze to still come through and break-up the sun, they slightly swing with the breeze, I love it.

We used a "shade cloth" on top and it keeps 90% of the sun out including UV rays while allowing the air to breath through.

They topped each post with a copper cap, isn't it fantastic!?

My goal is 62 for 2010

My 2009 blog book had 62 posts in it and I am trying to make that goal for 2010, sometimes it is hard and sometimes (probably often) there will be things that others are not entertained by. As my other blogger buddies know, a lot of it is for our own documentation and since I'm doing these as kind of "year books" for the boys I don't want to leave out anything!!

Hudson is now independently using the potty, we don't have to ask and he doesn't announce it he just goes. Harrison is not interested and that's OK changing one diaper/pull-up is a piece of cake compared to chasing down 2. They can tell you when their birthday is and Harrison is starting to make requests for his...today he had some Sour Cream and Onion chips and said, "I want these at my birthday party Mommy". They crack me up with the things they are saying and doing. Harrison was attempting to plug a fan in today and I yelped and said "No that will shock..." and he interrupted and said, "you mean it will shock me and blow me into outer space!?"......"uhhh...yeah, it will blow you into outer space", I said.

This is a Bob the Builder outfit but Hudson calls it "Pappy" because Pappy wears a tool belt when he's working.

He can't stand attention or being in front of a camera, can't you tell??

They have been best friends this week, it can change in a split second but the brotherly love is refreshing.

We love water painting!!

God shed His grace on thee!

Since moving to "the country" we are more thankful now for the nation we live in and the freedom and beauty of our land we get to endure. We hope that our boys can grow up and have the same if not more opportunities our families' have been given. We started our day out with candles in our cinnamon rolls and had our breakfast and coffee in the tree house, it was awesome. We had SUCH a great time this 4th of July weekend with our family, Happy 4th Birthday to our Yankee Doodle Dandy, Liam!! Here are some pics to explain our fun!
