91 and having fun

We celebrated my Granny Shaw's 91st birthday last weekend. She is just as spunky as ever and we had a great time outside and uncle LJ's and Aunt Pat's house as usual. We got some new horses across from our house that Hudson and Saylor want to go talk to everyday, they have affectionately named them "white-bootie" "nonnie" and "James". I guess they are all boys ;) We got school pictures back and I want to give a shout out to Scruggs Photography, I asked them for just a pic of the boys together and they didn't want extra money for two in the picture but also sent home 2 5x7's of each boy by themselves! How nice and thoughtful! I have to show a pic of Saylor and her buggy, she pushes it from room to room following me all day and puts random things from each room in it. I found one of my t-shirts from the dirty clothes pile in it yesterday. She drives it kind of like I drive my car... She thinks she is king of the road and that people (me and the boys) will move out of the way for her!

Dirt N Worms

Fall is proving to be a busy time for this family, we have had ONE night each week at home for dinner! Here is a few pics of what we have been up too.

This is the boys' favorite treat, Dirt N' Worms from Bops, it's really mine too but I know that they won't finish it so I do them the favor. I got these before we picked them up from school and it was torture to look at them in the pick-up line and not sneak a bite!

They got their birthday books during chapel this week, it was at St.John's Episcopal Church and that was our first time to go inside, it is beautiful! They coincidentally got them the same day as their best buds Preston and Belle Stevens and their Headmistress Mrs.Stone! (It was also Spirit Day)

For Wacky Tacky day they had one request, painted hair...the only color we could find was Neon Yellow (bright green to me).

She pushes this cart around following me all morning as I make beds and collect dirty clothes, she puts random things from each room in her cart as we go, its funny.

Papa G (an uncle) made this huge cat, that I couldn't even fit its entirety in the picture, in Mawmaw and Pawpaws yard. It is so cool! The kids LOVE it, we drove by on our way to Hattiesburg to catch a picture. Saylor did NOT want to be up there!

We painted a pumpkin for Eaglefest this year and Harrison was in it to win it, I was trying to explain to him that an older kid would probably win and we were just doing it for fun and participation...
The pumpkin went through these changes...Bat, snake, dinosaur, Frankenstein, mummified Frankenstein.

Saylor and Pop in the petting zoo at Eaglefest, she LOVED it!

They won 2nd place!! I was relieved and elated! Harrison thought there was no other option, whew!

Magic Kingdom Day 4

Our last day we went back to the Magic Kingdom to ride our favorites and a few we missed. This was our most relaxed day! We used the "Undercover Tourist" app on our iPhone and it shows park crowd levels among other things and this day the Magic Kingdom was GREEN which meant low crowd level. So it was a laid back day, very short wait lines, I think the longest on was 20 minutes and that was Splash Mountain, our favorite. These boys woke up and they were 5 years old!

One sunshine didn't feel like holding his hand up, but I know he was beaming inside ;)

This is outside of Chef Mickey's where we had their character breakfast and birthday celebration.

Their individual cupcakes and candles (Mickey thinks of everything!)

I think this would probably be our favorite place to eat, definitely a kids restaurant, don't go here on a date!

Chef Mickey

 Sweet Minnie kissed them both.

"Like a helicopter"  haha, no this is when the whole restaurant gets crunk and celebrates every ones birthday, it was so cute!

Fall has arrived at Disney!

Mickey pumpkins were everywhere and the best decorations, landscaping....you name it.

This is what it's all about!

"Partners" the statue says

Mickey's Philharmagic

Splash Mountain!

Rest time for Harrison and Daddy, they napped in a vacant and air conditioned outside cafe and Hudson and I went shopping for Saylor!!

Look where the cleaning ladies left some toys! He thought that was so funny.

This is picture Hudson drew right before they went to sleep, he said," Momma, Say-wer is in my heart so I wrote her this note" , he missed his sissy and so did we!

Here is the loot that they got from the trip (1 toy a day big or small) and 2 that were won on the midway games.

This is the last pic of the trip and it was the last leg of our trip....we were all feeling a little crazy at this point!!

If you can dream it, you can do it.

Hollywood Studios Day 3

Joel votes this day as his favorite and its a very close first for me. We got here when the park opened and it was so calm and quiet. We headed directly to Toy Story Mania...my favorite ride this day. Here is the day in pictures...

Waiting in line to get in the park, everyone is chipper :)

On the Toy Story ride, we loved it!

After face painting we spotted a Toy Story Soldier

These boys were so big, here we are in line for the Tower of Terror! Again, me and Harrison screamed and ducked and didn't want to ride it again!

Fun Day!

They wanted their faces painted so bad but it was $15 a face...I said no at first, knowing it would just melt off. They wanted it so bad and I remember how exciting that used to be. So we decided to let them, it was their birthday trip and they are only 5 once! It was worth every grin and watching them check themselves out in the mirror. We even found a video on Joel's phone when we got home of Harrison in full out character watching himself talk.

Hudson wanted Wolverine and Harrison wanted a snake in a skull .... yeah I was totally thinking a frog or puppy or something cute...

Harrison really took this seriously.

He is looking at himself in the camera...

We saw Phineas and Ferb! In the line they played only songs from the show and really the writers are genius, hilarious and musically inclined.

This was a funny one, there is nothing like hearing kids belly laugh out loud!

It was hot and this huge coke can sprayed mist every minute or so.

Taking a breather after the hot car stunt show.

These are the toys from the day... Hudson and Joel rode Star Tours (Star Wars ride) 3 times. I only rode once and almost didn't make it, I am so motion sensitive in my old age. Hudson built that light saber and Harrison chose a friend for his spinning Buzz and it is even noisier than Buzz!

By the way, the face paint lasted about an hour...Hudson had his one and only cry at lunch after he punched his brother in the stomach for not giving him the buzzer at the restaurant...a little guilt I guess.

Here they are going to bed as 4 year olds....tired 4 year olds.

Animal Kingdom Day 2

Day 2 we got up and headed to Animal Kingdom. We saw the Tree of Life, Kilimanjaro Safari, Tricera-Top Spin,   DINOSAUR, rode the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch, played midway games,  and saw the Lion King show and Nemo. DINOSAUR was too scary and fast and jerking and I'm just talking about me! I wish I would have snapped a pic of the ride picture that was taken. I was almost laying in Harrison's lap with my eyes and ears shut and he buried his head in me, Hudson had his ears plugged and his eyes shut and Joel was grinning with his eyes WIDE open. It was a great day because the park was not busy and there was plenty of shade. The boys even wanted to ride Mt.Everest but one was half an inch too short and crowd waiting made a huge deal out of them not letting one twin on... I just wanted to be nonchalant about it so not to point out taller/shorter. So we did not do that and from what I hear, it was a good thing they couldn't get on it, too scary! The park closes early to feed and care for all the wild animals so we went back to our room and rested then went to Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping.

Rise and shine, waiting on the bus to take us to Animal Kingdom.

These are the toys they picked out for this day, VERY typical, Hudson alarmed many people wearing that very realistic snake around his neck and for Harrison the more lights, movement and noise the better.

Hudson on the safari

Harrison on the safari, they had some very cool animals and what is so amazing to an adult is how they have "decorated" or changed the environment so well down to the fake mud tracks in the road that it all seems like you in a different country.

The Affection Section, Harrison gave the goat some sugar.

We got Rafiki's autograph and a picture, he was a funny character. I told the boys to turn around after he signed and Rafiki turned around and faced the back :)

"It's Tough to be a Bug" 3-D show, this was one of our top favorites of the trip! All the real effects of wind, rain, a spitting beetle, and crawling things.

We ate at the Tusker House with some awesome characters!

Tricera -top-spin

At Downtown Disney they have the best candy shops! They (and I) got a bag and filled it with our favorite candy and Joel almost fell out when we checked out... he could have just taken us to the gas station for a fraction of the cost but it was so fun and we didn't have to throw any unwanted candy colors out!

At the Lego store they have this life-size sea dragon made out of Lego's among many other things.

They got to be in a video with Phineas and Ferb! It was so funny, this is on a huge movie screen in a park.

Playing with Lego's outside the store, this was a fun night.
