Honey-Do's are getting checked off!

I just wanted to share some new things around the Pierce place recently. We sold all of our living room furniture on Craigslist.com in May sometime and ordered a new set from Jason and Shelley. We wanted some more motion furniture and we went for comfort this time around, not to mention it is a great looking set! Here is the pic of the new furniture!

We also are in the process of painting our mantle, it was a golden oak and we (okay okay I!) wanted to brighten up the room a little and make it more modern so we are painting it the color of our trim. We thought about whitewashing the brick, but are too amateur!

Lastly, I went by Hudson's Treasure Hunt today and picked up some outdoor cushions to spruce up the porch and I was really excited about how they looked!

And this is Charlie showing me he brought back the beaver I said to fetch...Good Boy!

Heal the World!

In commemoration to our generations first pop icon Micheal Jackson who died suddenly yesterday here are some of my memories of his music. When I was around 3 or 4 the Thriller video had just come out and I can remember Jason and Dean watching it in our den in Albuquerque with the lights off and I hid behind the blue recliner, it was terrifying! Dean used sing in the car (and wherever) to 80's hairbands and I can remember telling him he sung like MJ because he was so high-pitched :) When Heal the World came out in the early 90's that was a moving song to me as a kid. The coolest video was the black and white video and I can remember the world premier of that one on MTV. It is a hard pill to swallow when we see "our" (gen x) first tragic "young" (50) death of a music icon. I know we hear about the days that John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix and remember the tragedy of Kurt Cobain. But this was different.

Gary Giovannetti, 38, a manager at HBO who grew up on Long Island awash in
Farrah and MJ iconography. "This," he said, "is the moment when Generation X
realizes they're grown up"

RIP Big Mike! We are forever grateful to your soundtrack as the background of some of our most vivid memories!

Joel pretty much takes care of all the boy bathing these days, it helps me get the kitchen cleaned and their bedtime things ready...thank you sweet Joel! They are getting practice at drinking out of big cups, and doing a great job! Their coordination is really getting better!

I have not been keeping up like I should, but as summers go we are pretty much off schedule! Also, it seems like H and H are awake much more these days than they used to be, naps are fewer and bedtimes are later. As I am typing my sweet Huddy just brought me the plunger, lovely. Anyway, the boys are talking up a storm and can just about repeat anything we say, which means we (ok mainly me) have to be more choosy with my expressive words.... I have some catching up to do with blogging so here a few pics and check back because I will be updating more.

Looking fine in the summer of 09!

It has been hot hot hot this week up here in Jones County! It has been awhile since I have been in touch, just the usual busy busy! We have been going to Mother's Day Out, swimming in the pool, going for walks, and playing with friends. This past week we had a bull dozier come clear the under brush all the way to the water so that was exciting to watch the "tractor" at work...it
looks great and we saw TWO LARGE beavers swimming by yesterday evening! Will beavers attack? No snake sightings yet either, maybe that big dozier scared them away.
Hudson has a new found love for Thomas the Train (thanks to Liam) and will NOT let go of his trains, he eats, bathes, and sleeps with at least one sometimes two. (See in his left hand in the pics) Joel is going to plant grass on our "new" found property this weekend and hopes to catch the "big one" soon, we hear their are some fish tails out there. These are some pictures of some pool time, they love to drink the water, again we hope that is okay?? And our sweet Charlie (Charles when he is in trouble and Char Char to the boys) he will be 6months old this month, Happy Bday Charlie!
