Airplane

I hate that I don't have a new picture but I have misplaced my camera...not lost just misplaced. Hudson and Harrison have had a good week...still starting their "terrible twos" though. This morning as I was getting the car loaded up for Hattiesburg (cupcake deliveries, Kidz Klozet, Mother's Day Out, Wally World and Sams!!) Harrison was watching Sesame Street eating his cinnamon raisin bread and I was looking for Hudson.... Whom I found in my bathroom dunking his cinnamon raisin bread in the toilet!!! He didn't eat it , that I know of. Harrison is really picking up on EVERYTHING. He has found a new love of airplanes, he heard one while playing outside today and came and got me to tell me "aypane!" as he pointed to the sky. I will update with pictures to show you our adventures as soon as I place that camera of mine.....

Really?? REALLY!!

This is just a recent pic of Charlie, he is growing fast too!

Today is such a beautiful Spring day and the weather is at its best! This morning for breakfast I gave the boys their own banana for the first time and they did fantastic. So the morning started off with smiles! I wanted to run to Wal-Mart to get some things so that we did not have to get out this weekend, and when the boys got up from their morning nap we took off! Things were good although we did have the normal occasional shoe being thrown overboard, or the tag being pulled off the shelf....etc. While in the VERY back of the store Harrison was in the big basket by himself, while Huddy was in the front seat, Harrison tripped and hit his face on the back of the buggy. To make a long gory story short, his nose bled, blood everywhere, no wipees or napkins. I couldn't push the buggy with one hand and I started to panic because he was screaming so loud. My right arm suddenly had the strength of Rosie the Riveter and I pushed that buggy to Subway at the front to grab some napkins...cleaned us up and we came straight home. Harrison stopped crying in the car and I think his nose is fine. At home I had let them go outside for a second while I put our bloody clothes in the wash and as I looked out the laundry room window.... I saw this:

They are some climbing monkeys I tell you! Happy hour will begin before 5:00 today!!

Climbing to new heights!!!

It's official...the TERRIBLE TWOS have come early!! They are climbing on EVERYTHING, this is where I found them yesterday, Harrison got to the dresser by way of the changing table. I really thought for a while there things were looking up, I could let them play by themselves in their room or mine (this is where their toys are) not now...they have to have constant supervision and even with that they still are climbing on the table, on the bar, on my bed...etc. Hey at least they are healthy and moving right... whew, I'm worn out. However, we just returned from their 18-month check-up and the doc said they look great and that they have officially caught up from their pre-maturity. Here are the stats:

Harrison: 27.6 lbs, 32.25 inches long, and head is 49.5 cm.

Hudson: 25.12 lbs, 33 inches long and his head is 50 cm.

Busy, busy, busy describes this past weekend....next weekend the Pierce's are staying put! Joel had to go to driving school in Mobile on Friday, I am sure he learned a lot but at least the ticket does not go on the insurance!

We went to Matthew and Julia's house on Saturday for a crawfish boil and had a great time, the mudbugs were some of the best we have had! Saturday night we went to Lindsay Conerly and Robert Murphy's wedding and had a great time....just ask Joel ;) After all the running around we have decided that next weekend we are staying put and playing outside, the weather is supposed to be sunny and 75 all week! Besides cleaning up the spilled coffee, another broken coffee mug, cinnamon bread out of my bed, 4 dirty diapers (already and its only 9:00!), and the jewelry that is scattered all over the floor from somebody climbing on top of the nightstand and throwing my jewelry box off......I will be catching up on housework today:) Hope you have a great week and get outside!!

We had a great Easter Sunday! Joel was working (see post below :)) so we went to church with Nana and Pop. The boys went to the nursery and Harrison said "school!", because that is where they go to Mother's Day Out. We had a great lunch at Jason and Shelley's. Liam has a lot of cool toys that they have not seen before. As sharing is becoming more of an issue these days, we are learning new creative ways to share as you can see in the picture! We spent the afternoon at Aunt Elaine and Uncle Mitchell Eavenson's house with Mawmaw, Pawpaw and the rest of the Nelson's. It was a great day. Aunt Elaine so generously gave me some Canna Lily's and another type of lily that I was admiring. The boys opened their Easter Baskets when we got home that night and we were all worn out!

Joel's new do

My darling husband had to work at the hospital this weekend so Saturday night the boys and I went to Hattiesburg to stay the night. Joel called in a panic that he did something horrible. He sent a picture to my phone....and I fell over laughing. After he got home from work Saturday afternoon, he mowed, weed-eated, and trimmed the grass.....and his hair. He had trimmed around his ears and was going to clean up the back of his hair and didn't realize the guard was not on and zzzzzzzzzp....

If you know how Joel is about his hair this was a CRISIS!! He jumped in the car with the trimmers and came to Hattiesburg for help, but my two suggestions were leave it or shave your head. So I cleaned it up and made a square out of it. Hopefully it will grow fast. It's hard not to laugh when he turns to leave....poor baby.

Well, I have a "bad mom" confession to make.... I was so very tired last night it had been a loooong day so I went to bed early. Joel got home from his baseball game and accidently made a bunch of noise and woke up Hudson. He would NOT stop crying so finally Joel went to get him and put him in bed with us. Hudson is, in a nice way...a drama king...he finally calmed down and went to sleep but not for long. He woke up several times in the night, Harrison woke up too but I rocked and rocked and got him back to sleep and lest I forget Charlie ALSO woke up and went out. SO.... around 5:45 I turned on Blue's Clues and got Huddy settled on our bed and I crashed. Not on purpose but I was beyond sleepy. Who really knows what happened in the next hour besides Hudson and I don't think he is talkin!! An hour later he woke me up with a cup in my face saying "uh oh, uh oh". He had spilled a rootbeer I had left on my nightstand. I guess he just played and watched tv, everything looked normal, the gate was up so he couldn't get out of my room. Whew! I guess like my father-in-law always says, "God protects children and fools".

We also had our first bite!! Hudson bit Harrison in fuss they were having over some books, it left a bad bruise. Harrison was heart broken, but maybe this is an isolated event.

As our Easter weekend starts and we see our friends and family remember these times together are never promised they are truly a gift.

John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who
believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in
me will never die.

Busy Weekend

I know this is my second post for the day but the girl has a lot to say... We had a relatively busy weekend and set a new record. Hudson and Harrison (and us) saw every single immediate family member from all sides of our family within two days! Mawmaw, Pawpaw, Matthew, Julia, Kali, Kayla, Pappy, Nana Pierce, Dean, Ashley, Lucy, Grayson, Lolli, Jason, Shelley, Liam, Nana, Pop, and Granny Shaw...whew!! It was wonderful! We had a lot of good food and good times. It was quick and at times a little chaotic but really enjoyable. We don't want to take for granted that we are able to see and spend time with all of our family right now, we want to soak it up!

Saturday, we woke up early and packed. We went to pick up the boys from Mawmaw and Pawpaw's (they didn't want to leave!) drove to Nana and Pappy's for a visit with them and Matthew's family. Than drove to Hattiesburg for the boys 18 month photo shoot with Mrs.Alison (who did an incredible job!!) than had dinner with my entire family! This is a photo that Alison took, they really turned out so good, I HIGHLY recommend her!! We had a great weekend!

Cheeeeese!!

We are catching the hint that we probably take tooooo many pictures.... "you are the most picture-takingest family!" Dwayne said as he came in my parents house this past weekend! It's true!! We know, but one day we will be so glad we did. This is the face Hudson now makes when we pull out the camera and "say cheese", we have to come up with a new word to get them to smile at the camera... He thinks he is putting on such a pretty smile, at least he is compliant with the picture-taking. Harrison still puts on a genuine smile...

And here is Daddy impersonating Huddy, he will kill me for this!

So we are all up for smiles if you pull out the camera, just remember DON'T SAY CHEESE!!

Tee tee!

Well....I had typed a post about the boys emptying 4 packets of red Crystal Lite in my room and it was dramatic but it went out into internet outerspace...so its gone I can't do it again. However, you are in luck because baby stories are never lurking too far around the corner up here at Beaver Lake. Tonight was a little sketchy during our normal bedtime routine. Harrison was kinda touchy and "expressive" (see first post). I have been trying to introduce the toilet and what it is supposed to be used for, instead of a pool of water for cars and trucks. Before I put them in the tub I let them sit on their Elmo potty seat and I tell them to "tee tee". I AGAIN "lost" Harrison in the midst of dressing and fixing milk cups. I bet you can't guess where I found him...you got it! In the toilet! He was standing in the toilet trying to sit on the seat and he said "tee tee" as I flew in the room. Sigh...what do you do. Then, as I was putting his pajama pants in the washer I came out and found him on the table in a box of cupcakes stuffing his face, their was icing everywhere. I just have to exhale...and reach for my wine. So now they are in bed and I can calmly reflect :)
