Uno-dos-tres

This is what I heard my Harrison saying as he was counting wooden rings today....he went all the way to 10!! I was beyond shocked, we have been working on 15-20 in English. I have NEVER counted to 10 in Spanish for him so I immediately started asking who taught him this... All I can assume is Dora Dora Dora the Explorer!! SO THERE to all you TV for Toddler critics!!

Hudson is dancing his life away....he dances to EVERYTHING. When I'm not giving him all of my attention, he will say "Mamma watch!" and bust into the cha-cha. Its adorable and it always makes me laugh.

Today all the neighborhood kids were in my backyard playing on our swingset, the kids were all cackling and laughing, taking turns going down the slide in a new funny way. Country music was coming through our new outdoor speakers, as the Dad's (including Joel) pulled in from work they all walked over and we watched the kids play, we laughed and talked about the summer. THIS is what it's all about, life is great and we are good place :)

I took a leap!

I took a big leap this week and put in my applications at some surrounding schools, I am trying to get a teaching job for next year in order to finish up my Masters. We shall see what happens, education budget cuts are said to be pretty hefty for next year.My camera bit the dust on Snow Day so I got a new one this weekend. Its a new Sony Cybershot, just a little point and shoot for on-the-go photo ops. The boys are finally climbing up in the big playground at Mickey D's and sliding down, they are so big :( So this is a great pre-nap activity to ensure a good 1.5 to 2 hour nap... Here are some pics from this week!

Snow Way!!

You know pigs are about to start flying when our Saints win the Superbowl and South Mississippi has a snow day with over 6 inches of snow in the SAME WEEK!! We went out to play early, Uncle D had brought us some sleds from Hudson's warehouse, but the snow was too soft. Dwayne and Joel built a massive snow family in the front while we thawed out and watched Dora. Nanny, Pop, Granny Shaw and Liam came to play and we all had the best time. My Granny is 88 and she dove into the snow and made snow angels, it was awesome!! We had so much fun! I loved the snow when it was fresh but I have to say I'm ready for green grass, petunias, and Abita Strawberry (which hits stores the Monday of Mardi Gras :) Here are some pics, after the hard cut from 187 snow pics to 6!

Hudson and Joel throwing snowballs.

Harrison liked the smaller snowmen.

The "extended" family

Harrison found some mascara at Nanny's....it's funny that he knew where it went and how to do it!

Happy Birthday to my precious big brother Dean, we love you and hope you have a grand time with your Crew this Mardi Gras!!!

The Saints came marching in!!

My parents used to have season tickets to the Saints and my Dad was telling about one time he took Dean to his first Saints game and everyone was throwing paper airplanes in the dome...he said they were everywhere!! I bet season ticket prices for 2010 are going to be slightly higher than they were in the 70's!! What a great game it was, we are so proud of the Saints, SUPERBOWL CHAMPS 2010!
We stayed in and watched the game, the boys stayed up and celebrated the victory!

My cousin Bethany is doing her internship or whatever its called at the hospital Wellness Center here in Laurel where Joel works. So we met her for lunch today, its so nice to have her so close this semester!

This is a pretty Oak in our front yard that has had some issues we could never put our finger on, holes in the bark. I swore it was bees but driving up yesterday I spotted the culprit....Woody.....Woody Woodpecker. That darn bird has done some major damage. Joel is trying to shoot it with his .22 rifle but surely there is a more civilized way to get him to move on to the woods and not our trees.....Any suggestions??

We check the mail together daily unless weather is acting up, thought we needed to document :)

Deeeelissis!!

"Mmmmm.....this is deelissis!", this is what Harrison said as he began to eat his dinner one night this week...I have NO idea where this came from that is not something I or Joel say, but needless to say it made me laugh out loud. Hudson's BFF changes between Harrison and Charlie on a daily basis and he has been coming to get me and tells me I need to go outside and give Charlie a hug, I guess Charlie tells him to.

I took the boys to Mickey D's last night while Joel was at a game just for an outing and change of scenery and they were soooo good. They stayed in our booth and ate ALL of their dinner. They smiled and greeted the patrons as they came in or left, we had small talk and enjoyed each other's company. As we are leaving, we walk out of the door and one runs around the front of the building and the other towards the back (it is night at this point and the drive-thru is packed) so I had to make an instinctual decision which way to run and I took off to the one closer to the road, Hudson, grabbed the back of his shirt and ran the other way. While reaching for Harrison a lady in the drive-thru rolled down her window and offered her help. Embarrassed, I smiled told her no thank you and grabbed Harrison's arm. I laughingly told her I don't usually do this by myself for this reason, as I am herding my sheep to the car door. She kindly smiled and said, "Well you're doing a good job and they will remember your time and effort with them". She was probably over 40 and had her older kids in her older Tahoe, it was kind of symbolic, like me 12 years from now... she was so genuine. It made me smile on the way home, I wish I would have thanked her. So the lesson learned was genuine goodness and kind SIMPLE words are such an impacting gift to someone so speak up when you get the hankering!

Here are some pics of bath time with Daddy, he bathes and dresses them while I clean up dinner so I snuck in and did some documenting :)
