Yesterday the boys woke up early from their nap, which cut short on my cleaning/showering time. We were having company for dinner last night, Peggy and Larry and my parents, so I had intentions of showering :) I put the gate up at my door, turned on Noggin and jumped in the shower. When I got out I heard them just quietly mumbling so I peeked into my room and there they were my sweet boys on the couch, I just saw the backs of their heads sitting together watching TV. I thought to myself what sweet boys, I have never been able to leave them for just a second and now I can take a shower and they do fine! As I walked back into the bathroom to get ready I snapped out of my dream world and thought "no way". I went back and looked at them and this is what I saw...

I knew it!! So they had found my never-used red lipstick and there was not ANY left in the tube! I didn't even know where to start so I just threw them over in my tub while I figured this out. I just scrubbed them down and that didn't even get it all off, they had painted their legs, arms and hands. At least Hudson tried to make it on his lips, what a smart kid huh!? I got them out and while I am getting another set of clothes and diapers, Harrison tee tee's on the carpet...a lot of tee tee!! So I am cleaning this up as well. I decide to put them in their beds where I know they are safe and can't get into any of the lipstick that is on everything. As I am getting a plan together I hear a door slam....and here comes Hudson running into the den. He had climbed out of his bed!! He was so proud and I was thinking "REALLY!!? Am I on Candid Camera!?". Whew what an afternoon, Joel I think realized I was a flight risk and cut a couple of patients out of his schedule and came home early to help me get things tidy. Huddy climbed out of his crib twice before bed as well, I think I am going to get a crib tent this weekend. Joel kept quietly laughing and promising me that I would be laughing about this day soon....

I have to say, I am always blabbing and carrying on about my precious baby boys and yeah they are the cutest things and yeah they are hilarious but I have another "baby boy" in my life that I have something to say about too.....So...Joely (as I like to call him :) this is for you..... ahem.
You start so early I am never
awake and from the house you tip toe and no sound do you
make.
You work so hard yet make time
to call to ask if the boys give me any trouble at
all.
We watch out the window for you
to return as I keep an eye on your dinner so it will not
burn!
You come in with kisses for
each of our faces, you hear all our stories as I cover all the
bases.
Bad day or not we never
can tell, you are all smiles and hugs to no avail!
After dinner you say " Now
it's time to march!" straight to the tub where you bathe our boys from head
to arch!
Your day is so steady that
when it all winds down you can barely stay awake, it used to make me
frown :(
You try to stay awake for the
new reports but if all else fails, "baby just wake me for
Sports"
I love you so dearly my
strong, brilliant man....I want to go shopping next Saturday....think I
can??

The weather has been so great for outdoor adventures. I took the boys to the park one day this week and they had a lot of fun. I brought them a surprise...vanilla oreos (easier on the laundry than the chocolate ones!) they both open them up, eat the cream out and throw the cookies away!

My mom helped me take the boys for a much needed haircut yesterday, they were soooo good in the chair. Maybe it was the lollipop but I was a proud mommy! Harrison said "uh oh" about thirty times and Hudson did not make a peep! Joel wanted me to send him a pic via blackberry as soon as we were done. He responded, "they are growing up so fast, it makes me want to cry!" (I might take some heat for that one!!) but it is true they are, they are keeping us on our toes and laughing (sometimes crying) daily!

Okay fine so I didn't start potty training today...I am putting it off until June. They need more of an introduction to all of the pieces and parts that go along with this, as do I!

This picture is from Friday, Harrison fell asleep on the couch watching Sesame Street "Say-mee" as he would say and Hudson is trying to sneak out his passy, brotherly love already.

This morning when we all got in my bed to where they drink their morning cup o' milk, they both like to get right up in my lap which is truly my most favorite time of the day. I noticed it is getting harder to wrap my arms all the way around them. I have to literally hold one side of them up which can get hard after a few minutes. They are growing so fast physically and mentally. I am soaking in these precious morning moments and I am thankful that I get to have these, I know a lot of mommies would give it all to have these few sweet minutes. I will be holding my arm their as long as they will still climb in that bed with me and they will never know how hard it gets to embrace them both, to them I hope it will always feel just like their comfy place.

This is after a swim in the pool today, looking at a "PAYNE!" in the sky.

It has been just a short while since my last post. We are all doing well and have officially started the air conditioning. I really think Joel was trying to set a new record of making it through May without running it....but good gracious it is already H-O-T-T hot! I might have said a few choice words in the middle of the night when we both were sweating and he had completely kicked every inch of sheet off the bed because it was so hot. I couldn't breathe...but as for that I'm okay now. Anywho, we are at a strange crossroad with the boys...they are starting to say tee tee a lot and trying to take their diaper off, sometimes they are successful. So...do we start with the P word yet??? Pottytraining?? I read an article yesterday that compared little boys to puppies, in saying that it's easier to housetrain a younger puppy than a 3-year old puppy, in other words start early! So I am armed with my training pants, Elmo briefs (which are by the way too cute for words, they like to wear these over their diaper!), potty stool to stand on and potty seat....any suggestions?

The boys are still funny in an outsider-looking-in kinda way, Joel was showing them how to do headstands while I got dinner ready, I had to turn and laugh out loud.

Surprise!!

Here are the boys eating their snack after their morning nap. They have started to control their food better, not perfect but better, so I let them eat a snack here in the morning. They have also learned their "H" and "P"!
Usually in the mornings or after a nap I sing "You Are My Sunshine" to them as I open the blinds, well this morning we were piled in my bed and I sang it to them and when I got done Harrison started clapping and said "yay!!!" It was great, the first time in my life somebody has clapped for me after I've sung, it will probably be the last but it was a good feeling and we all laughed! Here is a picture I also took this morning that just made me smile....

Joel called me after lunch and told me that he was going to surprise me for Mother's Day and take me away to the Hard Rock in Biloxi for the day and night on Saturday....but their were too many logistical problems only I could figure out so he broke the news early!! Yipppeeeeee! We are going to hang out at the pool on Saturday and be lazy and have NO agenda. I am excited but I feel a little guilty for scheduling our own mom's visits around our trip. Thanks Joely your are the icing on my cupcake ;)

It feels like summer!

The Pierce fam had a great weekend, this is a pic from Saturday. We had wanted to take the boys to the new Bellegrass pool, (the neighborhood our lot is in....which is FOR SALE anyone anyone???) it is brand new and has jumping water fountains but it was not open yet. SO we went to another neighborhood's pool! The boys are little fish, they love the water and are not scared which can be scary for the adult in charge. Harrison kept wanting to get in big pool and had no worries about it. We also went to a great crawfish boil at our friend's house Adam and Heather, it was great weather, great food and great friends. Sunday we were all whipped. Pawpaw and Mawmaw brought Hudson and Harrison back from staying the night and this is what all my boys did Sunday afternoon....
